Man in hospital after car crash

A man was taken to hospital after a car crashed off a road in Stonehaven.

Firefighte­rs had to rescue the casualty from his vehicle after it went down an embankment in Low Wood Road yesterday afternoon.

Two crews were sent to the scene, near Woodcot Brae, at around 4.30pm.

The man was put in the care of paramedics and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A police spokeswoma­n said: “We received a report of a car having gone off the road on Low Wood Road in Stonehaven around 4.25pm.

“Emergency services attended and a man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution.”
