Quite a sight after partying all night

-

Carl Tremarco’s head was already a blur the morning after the Scottish Cup final.

He had to rouse himself and get to the stadium for 10am, ready for the open-top bus tour round Inverness on their homecoming parade.

His wife Jenna was already on the way back up from Glasgow, where she had stayed the night before, with their son Seb, so he could join his father on the bus.

When he finally stirred, it was to an unexpected sight.

“I woke up at quarter to nine and I heard the kettle going in the kitchen. I thought ‘there’s no way Jenna is home now – who’s in my house?’

“I go down and David Raven is in the kitchen with Jenna’s silk dressing gown on. He’s a hairy man and this dressing gown is quite small; it was quite a sight.”

The aftermath and the continued celebrations were well-documented. Tremarco was part of a small group that continued the partying well into the Sunday, after the last of the fans had gone home.

One of the others was his long-time ally Ross Draper. The pair had been friends since both joining Macclesfield in 2009, with Draper leaving in 2012 to move to Inverness. Tremarco had supposed to be following him immediately but it took a year – plus a detour via

Malta – before the left-back made the same switch.

“I roomed with him and I remember saying to him ‘we didn’t envision this four years ago when we were playing for Macclesfield, slugging away in League Two’. I was glad I was sharing it with him.

“There was about eight of us that cracked on with a pub crawl on the Sunday. We were in our tracksuits – we still had our medals on. Party-wise, it was the best two days I’ve ever had. Everyone was so happy.”
