Man, 23, charged as ‘disturbance’ leaves two dead
27-year-old woman in hospital after incident at city flat
TWO men are dead and a woman is in hospital after a disturbance in an Inverness flat.
Eyewitnesses described how a dozen police vehicles and two ambulances rushed to Balloan Road in the Hilton area of the city at about 10pm on Thursday.
Police confirmed that a 28-year-old and a 35-year-old man died and a 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where her condition is unknown.
Last night, a man was charged in connection with the deaths and the injuries to the woman.
Detective Chief Inspector David Hadden said: “There is no threat to the wider community.
“This appears to have been a contained incident.”
A man has been charged by police investigating the deaths of two men following a disturbance at a flat in Inverness.
Emergency services scrambled to Balloan Road on Thursday evening after reports of a dispute within a second floor flat.

A man was arrested and last night was charged in connection with the deaths and the injuries to the woman.
A police cordon remained in place around the block of eight onebedroom flats yesterday as officers combed the scene.
A blue tent was erected within the grounds outside the property as forensic officers sifted through recycling bins and searched the property looking for evidence.
A drone was also deployed to scan the building’s rooftop and surrounding area as officers conducted a search line scanning the grounds.
A woman described how her son, a nearby resident, has been left “in a state” after hearing the disturbance first hand.
She said: “My son knew one of the boys, he has known him for years. He was good friends with one of them.” Around a dozen police vehicles and two ambulances descended on the area around 10pm following initial reports of the disturbance.
Another resident, who gave his name as Damian, 35, added: “It’s crazy that something like this has happened close to our doorstep. It’s something you normally see in the movies or on TV. I have lived in Hilton for 10 years.
