Awards to celebrate pandemic pioneers
Business group WeDo Scotland has launched Covid-19 Awards celebrating the efforts of small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) which have risen to the many challenges of the pandemic.
There are five “best” categories for marketing campaigns, products, services, community involvement and employers, as well as an award for an individual “local hero”.
The awards are free to enter and will be voted for by the public, with the top three in each category being judged by WeDo’s executive teams.
Winners will be announced at a charity
“We wanted to create specific Covid-19 awards”
fundraising online awards event on July 9.
WeDo Scotland founder Belinda Roberts said: “We wanted to create specific Covid-19 awards to applaud and celebrate the successes of those businesses which have turned the most difficult of times into opportunities. Their efforts deserve to be recognised.
“This is a great opportunity for the Scottish SME community to come together at an uplifting online event, regardless of geographical location.”
Established in 2008, WeDo Scotland focuses on collaboration, leadership and peer-topeer learning for highgrowth entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Since lockdown was announced in March, the group has hosted 28 online events to support its members.
A wide variety of topics have been covered drawing on the advice and knowledge of industry experts such as Simon Cotton, chief executive of Johnstons of Elgin, and Edinburgh Airport CEO Gordon Dewar.
