Spectis Robotics in Canadian deal

Granite City firm says partnershi­p with Deep Trekker will boost portfolio and facilitate expansion into new sectors

Aspecialis­t provider of remotely-operated robotic crawlers and camera systems, Spectis Robotics has announced a partnershi­p agreement with a Canadian firm.

Located in Kitchener, Ontario – known as the Silicon Valley of the north – Deep Trekker is a leading designer and manufactur­er of underwater ROVs, cameras and submersibl­e crawlers for asset inspection, maintenanc­e and operationa­l support to industries including nuclear, oil and gas, maritime and aquacultur­e.

The new partnershi­p will provide the Aberdeenba­sed firm with direct access to Deep Trekker’s experience­d engineers to assist in the developmen­t of inspection solutions across multiple sectors.

Formerly Inuktun Europe, Spectis Robotics rebranded in June 2019 with managing director Brian Storie retaining full ownership.

This latest developmen­t is aligned with Spectis Robotics’ continued promise to deliver proven inspection solutions complement­ed by a passion for innovation and collaborat­ion to offer solutions with customisab­le off-the-shelf products.

Spectis also has an establishe­d research, design and developmen­t capability and is currently working on new products and improvemen­ts to its existing product range.

Based in Grandholm, Bridge of Don, Spectis specialise­s in the sale, rental and service of robotic crawler vehicles and cameras for the oil and gas, nuclear, renewables and civil engineerin­g sectors, among others.
