Jennifer Bell works her magic again with this fantastic sci-fi offering. While going to school, Arthur, Cecily and Ren are sucked through a portal into an in-reality adventure game called Wonderscape that exists in 2473. What makes this book stand out are casual references to scientific concepts like nanotechnology and cryptocurrency, as well as its celebration of humanity’s heroes, including Newton and Edison, who are characters in the game. The story never feels like a history or science lesson in disguise.
