Energy: Spring sun powers record solar panel output
Sunny spring weather drove a record for solar energy output at ice-cream firm Mackie’s of Scotland. The 7,000 panels at its headquarters at Westertown Farm, near Rothienorman, Aberdeenshire, delivered 640 megawatt hours between March and May, which the familyowned firm said was enough to boil 6.4 million kettles or power 193 houses for a year.
