Retrieval of man’s remains at cliffs
Police have recovered the body of a man from the foot of cliffs on the north coast.
Emergency services were sent to the shoreline near West Murkle, Thurso, yesterday morning after the alarm was raised shortly before 9am.
Thurso lifeboat attended the scene alongside officers to retrieve the remains.
In a statement police confirmed a man had died.
There are not believed to have been any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was recovered from cliffs near to West Murkle, Thurso, on Monday June 22 2020.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and the procurator fiscal has been informed.”
