Thought needed for Union Street

SIR, – Like many others, I despair at the current state of our principal street, so wondered if the council should have given more thought to making it a more attractive shopping and leisure proposition, prior to rushing to make it Covidfriendly and adding to “pavement” space.

I would love to see throngs of people along a busy and vibrant Union Street, but at present cannot see the attraction of it at all.
