North support for life sciences
Aberdeen University is among the financial backers behind a £102.1 million fund targeting investments in new life science companies.
Launched by Scottish venture firm Epidarex Capital, which has bases in Edinburgh and the US, the fund is aimed at world-class research and innovation from emerging “hubs” in the UK. Typical initial investments range from £2-£5m.
As well as Aberdeen University and the British Business Bank, which has committed £50m, contributors include the universities of Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow, alongside Strathclyde Pension Fund and several global investors.
