Company saw annual turnover rise 25%

-

Specialist forestry business Scottish Woodlands Limited enjoyed a 25% boost in turnover last year.

Accounts for the company, which has 17 offices across the UK including Fochabers, Muir of Ord and Dingwall, reveal turnover of £115.23 million for the year to September 30 2019. This was up from £92.34m the year before.

Pre-tax profits also rose in the year to £3.6m, from £3.26m previously.

The company’s managing director, Ralland Browne, said the increase in profits was down to “continued focus on core operations” in the business and a robust forestry market.

“All of our operational areas, plus our investment division and our utilities division, are performing well – to the benefit of our clients and staff shareholders,” said Mr Browne.

He said the forestry sector had continued to work, in accordance with government guidelines, during the Covid-19 crisis to deliver essential goods such as pallet wood for the transporting of food and medical supplies, and timber for biomass heating systems.
