Memory walk is virtual this year
Alzheimer Scotland is appealing for people to put their best foot forward and join a virtual fundraiser.
The charity is appealing for the public to sign up for this year’s Me m o r y Wa l k Big Weekend 5K event.
The venture is being hosted virtually due to the cancellation of physical events.
Officials have also waived this year’s entry fee to allow greater participation on September 19 and 20.
Participants are being encouraged to cover “their route, their way” and share their pictures and memories of their loved ones on Alzheimer Scotland’s website.
Sarah Cheung, from Alzheimer Scotland, said: “Every year thousands of people come together to take part in a Memory Walk, with many people walking in honour or memory of a loved one.
“We hope that our supporters will still come together, albeit v i r t u a l l y, to raise awareness and funds but also to recognise and celebrate the dementia community.”
