SNP responsible for accounting
SIR, – William McLeod (Letters, September 4) seems to regard the annual Gers (government expenditure and revenue Scotland) figures as a unionist ruse with a long history of creative accounting.
He might want to consider that the figures are in fact generated under the SNP government who of course do not find the massive fiscal deficit they reveal helpful to their cause. If there is creative accounting coming from a biased oversight, then surely the deficit must be even bigger than the published numbers.
