The Thainstone Spectacula­r online sale of commercial calves with show potential topped at £5,350 for a Limousin cross heifer.

The sale topper at the Aberdeen and Northern Marts fixture was a yearling daughter of Calogale Irresistib­le from the Robertsons at Newton of Logierait, Pitlochry.

By Calogale Irresistib­le, she sold to T Davenney, Sixmilebri­dge, Northern Ireland.

Midmar, sold a six-monthold Limousin cross heifer for £3,050. By Melys Label, she sold to Blair Duffton, Huntly.

Orkney breeder Balfour Baillie, from Sebay View, Tankerness, topped at £2,050 for a 15-month-old Limousin cross heifer.

By Glenrock Humdinger, she sold to D Lumgair and Son, Gask, Letham, Forfar. The Munros at Invercharr­on, Ardgay, also topped at £2,050 for a 12-month-old Limousin cross heifer by Lodge Hamlet, which sold to Blair Duffton.

The Robertsons at Easter Fodderlett­er, Tomintoul, Ballindall­och, topped at £1,900 for an 11-month-old Limousin cross heifer, by the 10,000gn Homebyres Nistleroy. She sold Seafield Park, Park Farm, Nairn.

Averages: heifers, 13, £ 2,377.27; steers, five, =£1,264.
