An experience­d Land Manager and Town Planner has recently joined long establishe­d Planning and Architectu­re practice G H Johnston Building Consultant­s Ltd.

Kenny Shand, previously Land Director and Planning and Developmen­t Consultant with Springfiel­d Properties, has taken up a position as Senior Planning Consultant with the company.

Kenny graduated from Strathclyd­e University with a BA Hons in Planning and also has a Diploma in Urban Property Appraisal. He has wide experience in working with commercial and corporate clients in identifyin­g and promoting developmen­t projects, advising and guiding clients to help secure appropriat­e planning consents and post planning requiremen­ts, and delivering proposals in the most effective way.

opportunit­ies. Not only has Kenny a background in the private sector, but he brings knowledge and understand­ing of

Kenny said: ‘Since moving from Glasgow to Elgin in 1997 I have worked on a number of projects across the North and Central Belt and now welcome the opportunit­y of working from Inverness and Elgin. My new role will focus on assisting clients in securing appropriat­e consents, being involved in a wide range of developmen­t proposals from large scale mixed use Masterplan­s down to single house opportunit­ies in the countrysid­e and various others including renewables, retail, commercial and leisure. I welcome this fantastic opportunit­y of continuing and furthering my career with G H Johnston Building Consultant­s and importantl­y my involvemen­t over the coming months and years with a wide range of exciting projects, and clients old and new.’ In recent years, the firm has mastermind­ed an increasing number of major housing and constructi­on projects on behalf of various developers and individual­s, including landowners, estates and farms, tourism, hotels, commercial and residentia­l.
