-

New research has shown the best and worst cars for depreciation value, with electrified vehicles among those depreciating at the slowest rate.

What Car? and valuations experts Cap HPI identified the 10 slowest and 10 fastest depreciating new cars based on an estimated trade-in valuation after 36,000 miles of use.

The 10 slowestdepreciating cars included electrified vehicles like the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, Tesla Model 3 and Porsche Taycan, which were found to have retained 57.6%, 58.2% and 60.9% of their values after three years respectively.

Porsche was a strong contender in the top 10 with five of its cars on the least-depreciating list.

The 718 Cayman 4.0 GT4 was rated as the UK’s slowest depreciating car, retaining 72.4% of its value.

By contrast, many of the fastest depreciating cars held less than a third of their value.

The Audi A8 55 TFSI quattro Vorsprung was the fastest depreciating model, retaining just 27.3% of its total value – a loss of over £77,000.
