Border divide in approach to Covid

-

Sir, – Stewart Wight (Letters, June 29) thinks I should, “rue my words”. Why? In the face of clear guidance from the first minister and mayor of London, fans chose to travel to London. The outcome – increased Covid infections – cannot be laid at the door of the politicians, but those who failed to comply with the advice given.

Few U-turns have emanated from Holyrood in regard to Covid guidance. Compare that to the myriad from Westminster. At the end of the day, had Westminster chosen to close the borders at the beginning and actually made an effort to protect us, we would not be in this sorry mess. Holyrood was simply left to firefight their incompetence.
