Aberdeen-based Escone Solutions has welcomed two new members to its growing team. The business software consultancy was established in 2015 and provides intelligent application solutions for finance teams.

The appointment of Kimberley Grant and Grace Barnes will help further develop expansion and continued growth for the firm across the northeast and the rest of the UK.

Kimberley has 24 years’ experience with finance business systems having worked as a manager, business analyst and project manager, as well as in sales and marketing.

The company said she will bring a wealth of knowledge to her new role as a business applications consultant.

A former finance transformation partner at DFS, a long-term client of Escone, Kimberley already knows the team well.

She said: “Having worked with the Escone team before in my role at DFS, I know that they treat everyone very much as part of the family, so I knew the move would be a good one.

“I’m very much looking forward to learning the ropes, and working out and understanding how everything fits together.

“There is so much variety in the job, with each project being very different to the last and that is what excites me.”

Grace, a former employee of Enterprise Rent a Car, joins the team as a business applications support analyst.

Her role will be to assist with tickets on the Escone Assist helpdesk, as well as supporting clients with their requests in OpenAccounts and eBIS.

Grace graduated from Robert Gordon University last June, with a degree in international business management.

Knowing that she wanted to work in the tech industry, she spent the following months completing coding courses and bootcamps in HMTL, JavaScript and CSS to improve her technical skills.

She said: “I really enjoy working through each stage of the various components that are involved in each job as I enjoy problem solving.

“The systems that Escone supports have so many layers that I am very excited to learn and know well.

“I also find it great that Escone is testing versions of the systems that can be used to try new functions/ actions which creates room for more learning and additional creativity.

“The team here are superb, very encouraging and helpful. It’s a lovely environment to be learning and working in every day and gives me plenty motivation to improve and develop and feel well supported.”

Set up by Mike Charles and Kevin Wyness, Escone Solutions specialises in a super user helpdesk called Escone Assist.

The team of 17 experienced business analysts, support analysts and super users deliver intelligent application solutions and professional services, working primarily with the financial applications OpenAccounts and eBIS.

Mike said: “The appointment of both Kim and Grace demonstrates the ambition we have for growing and improving the services that we deliver both locally and nationally.

“Having previously collaborated with Kim, we know the type of person she is and the qualities that she will bring to the business.

“We have no doubt that she will seamlessly integrate with the team and what we are trying to build at Escone, as will Grace who has an undeniable determination for learning about the job and the business.

“She’ll bring a great deal to the team and we are delighted to welcome them both on board.”
