In­ves­ti­ga­tion into care home

An El­gin care home is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated by Health and So­cial Care Mo­ray af­ter con­cerns raised by a na­tional watch­dog.

Of­fi­cers met rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Care In­spec­torate ear­lier this week, and heard feed­back from a re­cent in­spec­tion of Spynie Care Home on Duf­fus Road.

None of the con­cerns re­late to al­le­ga­tions of phys­i­cal abuse or crim­i­nal ac­tiv­ity.

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion will now be car­ried out into the qual­ity of care and sup­port at the home.

A spokesman for Health and So­cial Care Mo­ray said: “We have be­gun the process of con­tact­ing rel­a­tives and will work closely with all par­ties to ad­dress the con­cerns and to en­sure the on­go­ing well­be­ing of all res­i­dents.”

The home, which is owned by In­to­beige Ltd, will not take in any new ad­mis­sions un­til the Care In­spec­torate and Health and So­cial Care Mo­ray are sat­is­fied all is­sues and con­cerns have been dealt with.
