Bronson to stand trial over assault
High-profile prisoner Charles Bronson is to stand trial accused of assaulting a man in prison.
The 65-year-old, who was born Michael Peterson but is now called Charles Salvador after changing his name by deed poll, is accused of carrying out the attack at HMP Wakefield on January 25.
Details of the alleged offence were heard at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, a court spokeswoman said. He is due to stand trial on July 18.
