Thieves steal till from caravan park
Hundreds of pounds has been stolen from a Moray holiday park after thieves struck during the night.
Two men broke into the reception area at the West Beach Caravan Park in Hopeman at about 2am yesterday.
The bungling raiders switched off the CCTV camera system inside the building to make their escape, but had already been caught on the film making their way to the cash.
Last night, caravan park owner Barry Scott revealed about £300 was taken by the thieves but explained it could have been worse.
He added: “We had it

emptied not long before so there wasn’t that much in it.
“A lot of payments are by card now anyway.
“There were a lot of 50p and 20p coins though, maybe about £50 worth – so they might try to get rid of them in some way.
“We caught them on CCTV at about 1.50am, then the system was switched off inside the building at about 2.05am, probably so they wouldn’t be filmed going away.”
Two men were caught on the footage making their way to the caravan park from Harbour Street down the steps.
One man was wearing black trainers, grey trousers and a shiny black jacket.
The other was wearing combat trousers and a black short-sleeved T-shirt.
