Gas-leak probe after van strikes house
The A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road was closed yesterday morning after a van collided with a house.
Police shut the route between Forres and Alves in Moray following the incident at 7.35am, amid fears the van had hit a gas supply.
Gas engineers were called out to the property at Scotsburn to determine whether there was any risk of a leak.
Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident and the road was reopened shortly afterwards.
A police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a van colliding with a house.
“It was a minor accident but the road was closed while the gas board checked to see if there was a leak.”
