Navalny freed from cus­tody

Rus­sian op­po­si­tion leader Alexei Navalny has been re­leased from cus­tody af­ter serv­ing a 30-day jail sen­tence for stag­ing an un­sanc­tioned protest in Moscow.

A court in Moscow had last month con­victed Navalny on charges of or­gan­is­ing an unau­tho­rised rally and also of re­sist­ing the po­lice.
