Damages award to Wilson slashed

The Press and Journal (Moray) - - WORLD NEWS -

An appeals court slashed Rebel Wilson’s record A$4.6 million (£2.5m) damage award to A$600,000 (£338,000) after a magazine publisher appealed the amount of its payout in a defamation case.

The Australian actress had won a Victoria state Supreme Court jury trial ruling that German publisher Bauer Media defamed her in 2015.

Bauer successfully challenged the finding that Wilson be compensated for lost film roles.
