Win­ning trio show their pedal power

Tom Broad­bent, Jono Hunter and Car­los Ri­ise were win­ners in the cy­cling events at For­res, Kin­loss and Kin­neff.

Broad­bent (El­gin CC) won the Au­drey Gault Memo­rial 10 at Kin­loss, while Aberdeen Wheel­ers rider Hunter was vic­to­ri­ous in the Ed­in­vale 25-mile Big Brother Hilly in For­res.

Ri­ise (Shet­land Wheel­ers) came first in the SCNEG cham­pi­onship 50-mile TT at Kin­neff.

Mur­doch’s driven tre­ble

Michelle Mur­doch claimed a hat-trick of wins in the lat­est round of rac­ing at Cri­mond Race­way.

The Alves driver won all three heats of the women’s bangers cat­e­gory, with Scott Pater­son (Mac­duff ) and Les­lie Cook (Rose­hearty) win­ning two heats each in the bangers and road-go­ing sa­loons sec­tions.

Euan Faith­ful (Sand­haven), Mark Far­quhar (Aber­lour), Lawrence Penny (Cullen) all had vic­to­ries in the hot sa­loons heats, with Shane Kennedy (Mint­law), Marcus McLean (Maud) and Graeme Smith (Long­haven) do­ing like­wise in the sa­loons. Mark Mathers was won the other heat of the road­go­ing sa­loons.

Stick­ing with Tof­fees

Ever­ton goal­keeper Maarten Steke­len­burg has agreed a new two-year con­tract. The 35-year-old is un­der­study to Eng­land in­ter­na­tional Jordan Pick­ford at Good­i­son Park.

Fraser is Long­side ace

Martin Fraser, a mem­ber at Long­side Golf Club, holed his tee shot at his home course’s 136yd 17 th hole. He used a 7 iron and was part­nered by his wife, Nicky.
