May’ s visit clashes with trade claims
SIR, – According to the website of the leather company that Theresa May visited in Bridge of Weir, it operates one of the largest tanneries in Europe and exports to more than 60 countries.
I’m therefore somewhat at a loss as to why we are being led to believe in the screaming necessity of setting up the UK’s own trade deals when self-evidently Scottish and UK companies are already quite capable of trading with any other company anywhere on the planet.
Perhaps Mrs May should have chosen a different company in which to promote her Brexit deal, given the experience of this one
