Archie among most renowned foun­da­tions

The Archie Foun­da­tion has be­come one of the north­east’s most well-known char­ity or­gan­i­sa­tions.

And it is in­volved in rais­ing funds for the Baird Fam­ily Hospi­tal Ap­peal, sched­uled for com­ple­tion in 2021.

A spokes­woman said yes­ter­day: “The ap­peal has started strongly with a suc­cess­ful launch at The Ch­ester Ho­tel along with part­ner char­i­ties Friends of An­chor and Aberdeen Univer­sity.

“Friends of the Neona­tal Unit trav­elled to New York last month with 20 run­ners who were all tak­ing part in the NYC Marathon and helped raise £30,00 for the neona­tal unit.

“It was amaz­ing for all of our run­ners and we plan to re­cruit 50 more to take part in 2019 to con­tinue fundrais­ing for the Ap­peal.

“More re­cently, Gra­ham and Gil­lian Wood and the Ch­ester Ho­tel team raised an in­cred­i­ble £250,000 with Scot­land’s Fine Din­ing Sig­na­ture Fes­ti­val at The Ch­ester.

“Both Gra­ham and Gil­lian are Archie pa­trons and have com­mit­ted to help­ing raise money for The Baird Fam­ily Hospi­tal’s Pa­tient Ho­tel.”
