The Voice stays ahead

The Voice nar­rowly beat the BBC’s new of­fer­ing The Great­est Dancer (TGD) for a sec­ond week af­ter the shows launched head-to-head.

TGD av­er­aged an au­di­ence of 4.1 mil­lion while ITV’s The Voice, with singer Tom Jones, above, won out with an av­er­age of 4.6m.

Me­mo­rial van­dal­ism

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter around 50 wreaths were thrown from a war me­mo­rial.

The van­dal­ism, at the Ceno­taph War Me­mo­rial in Swin­don, hap­pened at 4.38am on Satur­day.

Chief Con­sta­ble Kier Pritchard urged peo­ple to iden­tify those re­spon­si­ble. He tweeted: “This is a to­tal dis­grace.”
