Chelsea to keep title charge going at St Mary’s

CHELSEA’S title credentials will be tested at St Mary’s but they should just see through for the three points that will leave Southampton nervous about the rest of the season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were excellent in their home draw with Liverpool last weekend and had it not been for a wonder goal by Daniel Sturridge it would be them sitting as joint leaders with Man City and not the Merseysiders.

Saints have not beaten Chelsea at home for five years and have lost the last six consecutive meetings between the two sides in all competitions including an FA Cup semi-final defeat last season so a home win looks far fetched given the the Blues’ hot form.

That said, with Mark Hughes’ team having not started well they will be looking to put up a fight against their London opponents and Betvictor are offering a decent 19/5 for the draw/Chelsea in the half/full time market.

Chelsea have spread goals around this season and that has been a feature of their play but the main man has been Eden Hazard who has upped his return in front of goal to make him more dangerous.

His dribbling at pace is something to behold and his presence will be the difference between Chelsea drawing and winning games this season.

Southampton won’t just lay down and die and will give Chelsea more than a scare or two and Betfred’s 12/5 for both teams to score in a Chelsea win looks decent value.

With a close game anticipated rather than a rout then the winning margin market could offer decent value in the form of Marathonbet’s 19/5 for Chelsea to win by one goal.
