Casanova has that winning look for Gosden stable

The Racing Paper - - Tv Races And News - Dave Youngman’s Newmarket letter

TODAY I will be at Doncaster to see the curtain come down on what has been a fabulous turf Flat racing season, and I can't wait for the new season to start again at the end of next March. What a season it promises to be with so much talent here in our Newmarket yards.

CHARLIE Appleby and Godolphin have enjoyed a wonderful year including winning the Epsom Derby with MASAR and more recently CROSS COUNTER triumphant in the Melbourne Cup, plus LINE OF DUTY winning at the Breeders’ Cup meeting.

IT is always a pleasure talking to Charlie on the gallops and at the Godolphin stables. He is always very polite and has a quiet and reserved personality. He has progressed from being travelling head lad to being leading trainer for Godolphin, with many as yet unraced juveniles in his string showing so much promise in their work his success look certain to continue.

OUR Limekilns gallops were still in use this week here at HQ, which is most unusual for November. Some trainers took advantage and made use of them including John Gosden.

He put unraced CASANOVA through his paces over there. This son of Frankel is out of Karen’s Caper.

As he was not born until April 28, 2016, he is a late foal so has been given plenty of time but there is no mistaking his vast ability judged by what I have seen of him in his work on the gallops. He will be out before long on the all weather track.

SIR Michael Stoute also used the Limekilns this week to work MIRAGE DANCER.

This son of Frankel will be off to race in Hong Kong next month and he is still improving and looking particularly well for the time of year. He stretched out in impressive fashion this week in his breeze.
