Mr Monky has another live one for Cheltenham

The Racing Paper - - Trends And Diary -

IRISH trainer Des McDonogh has been a rare visitor to the Cheltenham Festival since the heady days when his greatest horse Monksfield twice won the Champion Hurdle in the 1970’s during a glorious sequence when he was first or second at the meeting five years in succession. Fast forward to 2019 and McDonogh seems to have a prime candidate for the County Hurdle in the smart novice Hearts are Trumps who won for the third time in the colours of top owner JP McManus at Galway on October 9.

Hearts are Trumps is also qualified for the Supreme Novices Hurdle but the County looks the obvious target if he continues to progress over the winter.
