The Codmaster lands big catch in Ireland
JAMIE Codd reached a notable landmark earlier this month by riding his 900th point-to-point winner on Pegasi Amour at the Loughanmore meeting.
It is an astonishing figure when you consider that few professional jump jockeys in Ireland have achieved so much success.
The Coddmaster has long been the go-to rider in all the major amateur races on both sides of the Irish Sea. He has had six winners at the Cheltenham Festival and was second on Cause of Causes in last year’s Grand National.
The most successful points jockey in Britain is Richard Burton who retired in 2011 with 414 wins.
