Toffees can kick off our 7/1 acca cracker
GAME of the weekend is no doubt the clash between Tottenham and Chelsea at Wembley, but we look to Merseyside for the first team of our multiple in the shape of EVERTON.
The Toffees play host to Neil Warnock’s Cardiff and the Bluebirds haven’t won at Goodison since 1926 and that run won’t be broken today despite the south Wales side’s recent improvement.
Marco Silva’s men have lost one in the last six and that was an unlucky, narrow defeat at Old Trafford as United went on a three-match winning run.
Everton are likely to add to their squad in the January window but those who are already in the side will be looking to make sure they are not replaced.
The Blues have performed well at home, especially Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has rediscovered his form and scoring boots having hit five already this term and allied to his skill and creativity he is showing why Ronald Koeman splashed £40m to sign him from Swansea. He can be the catalyst for a good home win.
The Championship is where our next selection lies and it’s a north v south clash where WIGAN take on Reading.
The Latics may have lost the last four but they can bounce back after the international break feeling fresh and confident in front of their own fans where they have displayed their best form so far and three of those reverses were away from home.
Their main player is Nick Powell and the ex-Man United player has a touch of class about him that produces a good partnership with front man Will Grigg and if those two perform Reading could be on a hiding to nothing.
BARNSLEY are the third selection as they play host to Yorkshire rivals Doncaster in League One.
The Tykes are the stronger team of the two and have a tighter defence than Donny who have shipped in 25 goals in their 18 games.
With Kieffer Moore having hit nine in 16 for Barnsley they should just have enough firepower for the win.
CHARLTON complete our acca line-up and they are chasing a play-off place in League One.
They have a great opportunity to secure the three points that will keep them within reach of the other top sides when they play host to Bristol Rovers who are near the bottom.
Although defensively sound they have found goals hard to come by, but the Addicks have Karlan Grant banging them in from midfield along with frontman Lyle Taylor who’s looking for his 10th of the season.
The four-timer adds up to around 7/1 depending on your choice of bookie.
Silva lining: Marco is doing well at Everton
