Hemmings chases new National glory

The Racing Paper - - Trends And Diary -

TREVOR Hemmings could have another Grand National candidate on his hands following the decisive success of the progressive Lake View Lad in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle a week ago.

It was his first run in the Hemmings silks following his purchase in a private deal from his previous owner Alistair Cochrane for about £70,000.

Hemmings has won the National twice in recent years with Ballabriggs and Many Clouds and is mad keen to enjoy more success in the race that is so close to his heart.

The mud loving Lake View Lad, aged eight, stays well, has plenty of winning form racing left handed and could further advertise his Aintree claims in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock in January.
