Regional transport hub for Motherwell
WORK on a new £14.5million regional transport hub at Motherwell station is set to begin this summer.
The project will see the redevelopment of the station building, concourse and forecourt area, improving links between bus and train services as well as reducing congestion.
Other improvements will include better ticket and catering facilities, refurbished toilets and waiting facilities, better pedestrian and cycling access and new facilities for taxis, car drop-offs and disabled parking.
The project will be delivered in two phases, with work on the station redevelopment due to start this summer, and the transport integration works following in 2021.
