First look at Siemens’ £200m Goole factory

SIEMENS has released a computer-generated image showing how its new £200m factory in Goole will look when it is completed.

Phase 1 will provide facilities for the production of new trains for London Underground’s Piccadilly Line, as part of a £1.6billion contract.

Pending approval, construction is expected to begin by early summer, with the first phase of manufacturing facilities scheduled to become operational in 2023, creating up to 700 permanent jobs, 250 construction jobs and up to 1,700 additional jobs in the UK supply chain.
