Exodus of Finmere site continues

REMOVAL of rolling stock at the private Coulsdon & Old Vehicle Engineerin­g Society site at Finmere, Oxfordshir­e (the former Great Central station site), has continued.

This follows the recent departure of Network SouthEast Railway Society’s 4-CIG EMU No. 1753 to Nemesis Rail, Burton-upon-Trent (RM March).

Items known to have gone into store at Ministry of Defence, Bicester, include Class 73

No. 73130 and Ruston & Hornsby 4wDMs No. 46 Heather (242868 of 1946) and 458961 of 1946.

Also moved to Bicester are EMUs Class 501 Nos. 61183 and 75186, and four two-EPB DMBS cars.

Former 4-SUB car No. S10400S (977364) from set No. 4349, which was in poor condition, has been broken up, having failed to find a buyer.

Not yet accounted for are five LT tube stock cars, Nord France corridor coach No. 7122 and four Geismar rail trollies.
