150th anniversarygathering in 2022is being givenserious considerationby BarrowHill Roundhouse.
Theideawould beto unite asmanyof the remaining examplesof the onceSO-strong classof 0-6-0Tsaspossible for a celebratoryeventat the Derbyshireroundhouse,marking 150yearssincethe type's introduction by LBSCRchief engineerWilliamStroudley.
Thiscould potentially include the temporaryrepatriationof No.54 Waddonfrom the Exporail museumin Montreal,Canada, for the first time sinceit left the UKin 1963,andthe release of 'A1'No.82Boxhi/1from the NationalRailwayMuseumin York.
Theownersof the 10'Rooters' havebeencontactedto establishwhether suchan event is feasibleand cost effective.
HaulierAndrewGoodmanwho wasbehindthe repatriation of'A4' Dominionof Canadafrom Exporailin 2012- haspledged his support to any bid to bring Waddonbackto Britain.
