Northern Line extension testing

-

FROM early July, Transport for London began running test trains every weekend on the Northern Line Extension ahead of its planned autumn opening.

Testing of the new 3km twin-tunnel route between Kennington and Battersea Power Station via Nine Elms is designed to be as close as possible to a normal service. Four trains an hour will run during the testing phase. When the extension opens, it will see six trains an hour at peak times, increasing to 12 from mid-2022.
