AN historic GWR carriage is among three rail vehicles identified for disposal from the National Collection by the Science Museum Group. Built in 1887, six-wheeled clerestory tri-composite No. 820 is described by the Vintage Carriages Trust database as ‘exceptionally important’. Also listed in the ‘Objects available for transfer’ (August-October 2021) document is LNER loco sand wagon No. DE14974, a four-wheeled five-plank open built in 1912 – and LNER brake van No. DE470818.
