Cab Yard collection to set up a display at Cynheidre
THE large cab end from Class 47 No. 47738, once used at Plymouth for educational purposes, is now at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway (L&MMR) having moved from The Cab Yard, Bridgend. It proved very popular with visitors at the ‘Pacer gala’ on August 28 (RM August p81). This was particularly so with the younger ones who enjoyed sitting in the driver’s seat and operating the controls. The railway is to work in partnership with Richard Benyon of the South Wales Loco Cab Preservation Group, which will eventually see many of the cabs relocated to the L&MMR for permanent display.
