Ashington station plan approved

NORTHUMBERLAND County Council has approved plans for a new station at Ashington, one of five stations in the Northumberland Line project. The new station, with a single platform, will be located at Wansbeck Square. Two trains per hour to Newcastle are envisaged when services begin in 2023. There would be a 270 space car park.
