220009 was named Hixon on August 19at Stafford station, in memory of the 11 people who died on January 6, 1968 when a Manchester-Euston express collided with a low-loader carrying an electrical transforme­r over a level crossing near the village. A nameplate has also been given to Hixon Memorial Hall and another donated to raise money for the Railway Benefit Fund.
