Cemex depot investment

-

IMPROVEMENTS have been completed at three of construction materials supplier CEMEX’s rail-served depots, as part of plans to reduce the proportion of its traffic carried by road.

At Small Heath in Birmingham, 330 metres of track was put in place, forming part of a new siding featuring storage bays for more efficient offloading.

The replacement of life-expired track with prefabricated rails embedded in concrete allows road deliveries by day and rail movements by night at Attercliffe in Sheffield and 152 metres of realigned track was laid at Bletchley.
