Former East Lancs ‘Thumper’ runs again

CLASS 207 DEMU, set No. 1305, acquired by Coulsdon Old Vehicle & Engineerin­g

Society (COVES) from the East Lancashire Railway (RM May p90), ran for the first time in many years on October 30.

This followed much attention including checking and testing, cleaning and painting in Rail blue with yellow motor coach cab end. This has all taken place at the society’s base within Ministry of Defence, Bicester, which has no public access.

The three-car set comprises DMBSO No. 60130 and DTSO No. 60904, with former

4-CEP EMU TSOL No. 70549 between the two driving cars.
