‘4DD’ cars reunited

THE two surviving driving cars from the pair of exSouthern Railway four-car, double-deck EMUs are to be reunited for the first time in three decades. Vehicle No. 13004 (from unit No. 4002) will be moved from its current base at the Northampton Ironstone Railway Trust to join No. 13003 (also from No. 4002) at Sellindge in Kent (RM July 2021, p92).

Both vehicles are now owned by the Bulleid
