‘4DD’ cars reunited

THE two surviving driving cars from the pair of exSouthern Railway four-car, double-deck EMUs are to be reunited for the first time in three decades. Vehicle No. 13004 (from unit No. 4002) will be moved from its current base at the Northampto­n Ironstone Railway Trust to join No. 13003 (also from No. 4002) at Sellindge in Kent (RM July 2021, p92).

Same owner

Both vehicles are now owned by the Bulleid

4DD Double Deck EMU Supporters’ Group, and restoratio­n work has restarted after being put on hold by the pandemic. The small owning group is open to offers of help and donations, see its website at www.bulleid4dd.org.uk for more informatio­n.
