‘Humber Express’ intermodal service generates interest

-

A SIXWEEK trial of a twice daily intermodal service between the Port of Immingham and iPort Rail Doncaster has led to “significant interest” from companies looking to use it, according to iPort Rail managing director Steve Freeman.

Run in partnership with shipping and logistics firm DFDS, the workings were officially launched on November 2.

The aim was to provide easier transit for exports via the

DFDS European network and smoother distribution across the country for goods arriving in the UK.

Mr Freeman said that all indications suggested there was “great potential” for the service to continue well into the future.
