Bogie press reduces repair times

-

A NEW bogie press which can simulate axle loads of up to 24 tonnes has been supplied by rail maintenance specialists Mechan to London Underground’s Stratford Market depot.

The press allows staff to set-up bogies for Jubilee Line trains to the correct ride height and adjust the suspension following maintenance.

Ian Ferguson said:

“The bogie press has dramatically reduced the time it takes us to carry out repair work, as it can all be planned and executed at Stratford Market. This means trains are out of use for less time, bringing direct benefits to passengers.”
