TEES AND THAMES DERAILMENTS:
Freight derailments caused disruption at Tees and London Gateway recently. Early on December 24, the previous night’s 4L47/22.35 from Hams Hall (West Midlands) derailed while arriving at London Gateway, blocking all entry to the terminal. The photo (above) was taken on December 28, but work to recover the wagons and repair the tracks continued into January. Then on January 20, the Margam to Middlesbrough Dawson working derailed while leaving Tees Yard behind No. 60092 – the clear-up operation seen later that day.
