Tender progress

VOLUNTEERS from the Furness Railway Trust reached a milestone with the restoration of their GWR 4-6-0 ‘Hall’ No. 4979 Wootton Hall on January 5, when the new Collett type 4000 gallon tender tank was fitted to the chassis. Most of the cladding has now been fitted on a temporary basis as part of its restoration from Barry scrapyard at the Ribble Steam Railway, Preston.
